When Bananas is yer Business

I'll have a bowlful of fruit with my shoes please
B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Shoe maker Charlotte Olympia clearly likes mixing business with breakfast. Not for me man, not for me. And at 970 quid?!
Now Ms Jospehine Baker... she could carry off bananas!

Still Life...
Every Vishu (Kerala New Year) my mother puts out the most artistic table setting... filled with the goodness of life... fresh vegetables and healthy fruits, pretty ornaments, brass vessels, colour-saturated flowers and lamps to light the way.
It sets you up for the rest of the year, she says...

The clown is dead. Long live the clown.

the circus. always Rambo. or Gemini. or Venus. skinny lions. protesting monkeys. barking dogs. all obedient. all scared. flying humans. flying without wings. the elephant. stooped in resignation. and then the clown. the absurdly happy clothes. a big red nose. and an upside down frown. silly was the way to make you laugh. i didn't laugh. lets go home. i've had enough.

Fashion is the armour to survive the realities of everyday life
I love it.
Bill Cunningham. Old school fashion anthropologist. The original street style photographer.
I can't wait to watch this.
Queen of Hearts
does it make you feel silly or make you look smart?
Tania Fadte, a cute-as-a-button accessories designer, from the sunshine state of Goa, makes these wonderfully whimsical bow ties made of lego. The question is, are you man (or woman) enough to wear one?

Bloc Party
Hot Coco
Vintage Keira in scarlet Chanel couture or as-seen-now Keira squeezing a classic Ducati in beige leathers? Personally, while I am drooling all over the Les Ateliers Ruby helmet she sports in the new ad, as far as appropriate branding goes, higher marks for the older Coco mademoiselle advert (I'd like to think I know, given I'm a loyal consumer).
Particularly love Joss Stone's throaty pipes in the background

Peace Out

I've always maintained that a successful brand starts and ends with telling a great story. And when that story is a credible, meaningful story, nothing like it. A Peace Treaty is a design enterprise that works with artisans in places of socio-political strife with the dual purpose of supporting their disappearing craft while providing the world's discerning consumers with boutique-level artifacts. Did I mention lust-worthy?

How Many Calories Make a Man?

Around The World In 80 Diets offers a fascinating portrait of the cultural context of food. From Chinese acrobats to Tibetan monks, American construction workers and Egyptian camel brokers, Peter Menzel and Faith D'Alusio track astonishingly varied daily calorie intakes across the world and demolish commonly held
notions around food.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm
Dreams will be pipe dreams if you don't stop dreaming and start doing. There's a million cool ideas in my head. I need to get started on one of them. Do you have a smouldering passion that needs actioning NOW? What's stopping you?
Shadow Lines Part Deux
"What would your good do if evil didn't exist, and what would the earth look like if all the shadows disappeared?"
Now I'm not the biggest fan of this "bistro" but the same jarring lighting (who advised them on that??) that gets your goat when you're on the inside, creates some really cool effects when viewed from the outside.
